Lonesome Orange Kid
The extra CD with the spaced out hyper ambient versions makes this a stellar release - the vinyl / album would be enough, but the CD on top? Pure bliss..And for all of you who didn't get a copy within those first 24h, just remember that it wasn't exactly for free to begin with, so, the prices here ATM w copies at €50 isn't that far off the original asking price, like hhv.de had it at €42, while juno had it at approx €32.Chances are that the price will go up even further..Again, as has been pointed out by many, the current customer base might be around 600-700 people, so pressing another 500 copies might be a bit risky.

Dennis is a super-nice guy and I know for a fact he would want anybody who wanted to own this on vinyl to have it if it was logistically possible.we must keep in mind that for many of his formative years Dennis struggled to sell his releases because nobody knew about him.thats why we get these super limited releases.Thankfully,he is now getting the recognition he deserves so we may see an end to these hugely inflated prices through higher pressing numbers.

Grab it here @ ultimae records:https://ultimae.com/product/36-fade-to-grey-asip-2xlp-cd/Don't pay stupidly high discogs prices.

I am just happy to see this out! Already uploaded it to my player and ready to listen.

There´s still a pre-sale over at DECKS:https://www.decks.de/track/36-fade_to_grey/ce2-arand another pre-oder (Feb. 8th) at HHV:https://www.hhv.de/shop/de/artikel/36-fade-to-grey-yellow-vinyl-edition-631150?p=GxzEnrGrab your copy for a fair price!

my hhv status says: sent to store. Maybe im lucky.

Unfortunately it’s sold out at the distributor so this might just be a matter of the stores not yet updating I’m afraid. So, just to confirm that this is a store issue and not a distributor or label issue should they not fulfill on any “preorder” sale.

Unfortunately I came a little late late to the party with 36's last release on ASIP, so had to bide my time until a reasonably priced copy came up for sale.As soon as I got word 'Fade To Grey' was being released I wasn't going to miss out again. Very rarely do I buy 'blind' as it were as I usually like to stream first before purchasing, but I knew how sought after the last record was, so chanced it. So glad I did. Fabulous ambient music, which is gorgeously presented throughout. This is sure to be spinning regularly throughout this year and beyond.

Agree with everyone else. Managed to snag this one from my local record store, and it has been on the turntable ever since. Classy and mature ambient music!

I truly like your local record store. You should go there even more often! :D

Sold out so fast! Sure to hit the resell market for at least double....

Every release page on the A Strangely Isolated Place website now has a form you can fill out expressing your interest in a repress. Ryan has said that if enough interest is expressed, a repress is always possible.http://www.astrangelyisolatedplace.com/asipv013-36-fade-to-grey

Thanks for your message. I was able to find a copy and I cannot wait to spin it! Cheers

Steel balls
I am not sure if the place where I have ordered it will eventually have it and if they will send it to me but I think this release had a particular appeal. The unusual colour, the ethereal beauty of the cover, made it an instabuy for everyone even before we heard the actual music. I think however in this case a repress would be the way to go. Do you think you won't sell another let's say 200 to 300 copies? I would think so and for once even if you don't sell out in a month you could give the chance of buying it even some months after the release date and immediately kill the bastards profiting from this. Think about it, and ask to the label to do it, they surely covered all the costs and could make more money with it because you already have the matrices, so a repress would cost much less. If you together with the label do happen to consider a repress, make it absolutely identical, same colour, same cat number, same etchings, otherwise there will still be a market for the "original first press, rare as hen's teeth, once in a blue moon, OOP very rare, etc etc" and all the bullshit the flippers always pull here... That said, thanks for the music!!

It's just a bit of a shame. I thought I had it covered when I preordered it from decks.de weeks ago, and passed up several chances to buy it elsewhere when it was still available. Now they tell me that they got word from label that it's sold out and that they won't receive a single copy.

Both me and the label pressed far more than I (the artist) usually sell to try and combat this kind of thing from happening. However, it's very difficult to know exactly how many records to press. Demand for this record was far higher than we expected and never in a million years would I have expected all the units to sell in a single day. Selling 500 copies of a niche genre record is really difficult in today's record climate, let alone selling that many in 24 hours. It's why artists and labels are hesitant to press records in big runs, because nobody wants a load of records left unsold on shelves or in their attic...Obviously in this case we got our estimates a little wrong, but believe me, had we known it'd sell out so fast, we would have pressed more. However, in our defense, we did promote this release substantially prior to release and when it was in stock, so we did give listeners plenty of heads-up that it was coming!Anyway, I hope everyone who wants a copy manages to get one. Please don't pay ridiculous money for them from scalping b*stards here on Discogs though. It's only music and not worth hurting yourself financially just for wax. The digital version will always be here and ultimately, it's about the music, not the format. Thanks everyone - 36

very nicely done release. thanks for continuing to put stuff on vinyl

Another Fantastic release by 36. Without a doubt, one of the best ambient producers of the last decade.
