Have looked at this and a replacement, and this release unfortunately has QC issues, like most new pressings. Non-fill and stitching on both sides of both discs. Not super apparent on my system, but I can still hear it a little bit, YMMV (buyer beware if you have a particularly detailed setup).

My copy bought at the time has MT-2 on the A side but not on the B Side

Happy to read the great reviews about this edition! Please someone can tell me if the edition sale in the US is the european import edition? I'm about to buy online and I would like to know before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

I think it's same because inside label looks same and shrink wrap had USA UPC barcode.

Just like the recent reissues of "Ceremony" and "Everything's Gone Green", I'm very happy with this purchase. My copy is sturdy and flat with absolutely no surface noise throughout. The remaster is full and crisp, definitely the best these tracks have ever sounded. The inner and outer artwork is faithfully reproduced on a nice stock. Like the original, the jacket has "temptation" debossed on the front and "hurt fac63" debossed on the back.

Can anyone tell me if the 2009 reissues have the same debossed lettering on the cover as the original 1982 UK version?

My copy of this sounds GREAT! This is the best pressing of Temptation I currently have on vinyl. I was surprised how good it sounded. Until I hear the original 7" pressings, I'll say this is the definitive pressing to get for the 7" version.

I've just bought a copy with a Picture Sleeve, the design is the same as the standard UK version except the text is not embossed but printed in white. The background image is noticably more blurred than the UK release, like it's been scanned. My UK 7" is probably the thinnest 7" I've ever owned, not much thicker than a flexidisc, this Irish copy is a much heavier/thicker pressing.

This version sounds very bad. Almost unlistenable. Must be a bad pressing? Weird mix. Does not sound like the LP. Sounds like a muddy wet dog.

As with a few comments below, a run of these had the labels on the wrong side. I own a copy like this too.

This 2003 comment has been superceded by the subsequent release of the "deluxe" 2-disk version of the Movement album, which includes the 7" version of Temptation on CD2, though to these ears it sounds like a vinyl rip rather than taken from the master tapes...

The 7'' version is also available on the Singles and TOTAL compilations.

This is one of my favourite songs of all time. Especially the 7" version is great. The snare sound is a monster, it has the ideal lenght and structure, where the 12" version seems a little bit chaotic (don´t get me wrong: that version is fantastic in it´s own rights). The song itself deserves a rating beyond the scale, but this pressing just sucks. I bought it for DJing, but it is simply not loud enough. What went wrong? Or is it just my copy that is bad? My guess: It was a rushed sloppy reissue for the record store day.

Mine's definitely an original, I know I bought it when it came out, but nowhere on the run off has it got MT-2. Everything else is there.

Side A plays Side B, wrong label pressing or deliberate?

FAC 63.

This is a great little synthpop number, yet strangely it's never been anthologised. Its 12" equivalent has been, and so has the 1987 remake, yet not the original 7", which has a different feel to either of the more familiar versions (and no, it's not simply a cut-down version of the 12", it is a completely separate recording). Granted, it's not the best New Order single (by some distance), but it's still pretty good and deserves to be heard.

new order steps out of the shadows of joy division, by producing the record themselves. the results make an early new order dance record you can still dance to.
